“Wonderful Week”

Bay Gardens Beach Resort

Jan 16, 2011 | Trip type: Couples We just returned from a week at BGBR. We had a wonderful time. The hotel is just what is pictured in the hotel web-site. Our 1br unit was spacious and immaculately clean. It was all tiled and the tile work was 1st rate. The bathroom was huge and had modern fixtures. The hotel staff was friendly and wanted to be helpful. We did not have many requests but they did all they could to accomodate us. We wanted a late check-out as our plane was not until 5. They could not give us a late check-out but provided us with a courtesy room to shower us in after staying on the beach until noon.

We had good dinners at Trios Restaurant, the hotel nice restaurant. Dinner there cost us about $60 US for the 2 of us. Most restaurants off-site cost us around $140 US. We had breakfasts and lunches at Spinnakers which is right next-door to the resort on the beach. A full English breakfast was about 12 US as opposed to a $20 buffet at the hotel. I do not recommend Spinnakers for dinner. We had good dinners at the Edge although my husband thought his main course was small. We also had a good dinner at Buzz's. I loved the drink the Buzz Cooler. Appitizers were the best part of the meal there. Fire Grill was also quite good.

The hotel is 1.5 hours from the air-port. Some hotels charge $80 a person for the ride. I had contracted with Chester Denis to pick us up and take us back to the airport. He charged $80 US. He can be reached at: determine295@msn.com or 758-458-9645. He was reliable and prompt.

Hospitality at its finest!

Traveled with spouse and two small children ( 6 & 4 ) . We were unsure if St. Lucia was children friendly since it is such a honeymoon destination....Well, to our surprise it was! When an airport has a line dedicated to handicap + children, you know you have entered a child friendly country!

My family stayed here for the New Years Eve holiday - what a treat! From the moment you enter their reception, the St Lucian hospitality is felt. In fact, this same hospitality is felt throughout the entire country. Lucians recognize/appreciate that tourism is their number one industry!

The hotel was impecable, the location perfect, and the service ---- well the service was stellar. They helped us with restaurant reservations and securing taxi service when needed.

This resort is a safe - in fact, on one occasion my wife left her bag in the lobby and she easily retrieved it. We also overheard a guest who had left her purse at the New Years party - and the staff secured it for her. This resort is well managed, beautifully manicured, and incredibly staffed.

A shout out to our service staff - Kendall Jimmy and Luquesa were brilliant at the hotel restaurant - The manager who sits adjacent to the reception desk is above brilliant - never got her name. I think her name is HOSPITALITY! She is professional, dedicated, and a service role model ----- she runs a well oiled machine!

We are back in Chicago now and can't stop thinking about our trip. Bay Garden Beach Resort- thank you for making the stay such a memorable experience!

Bay Gardens is hard to fault. Very well kept throughout and I'd particularly compliment on how very clean the rooms are kept. Bathroom towels are always fresh, with pool towels too!. Rooms are fine, with a nice big bed, good air-con, a safe, cable TV and a decent sized 'fridge. Food's fine and is reasonably and competitively priced, as is the bar.

All the staff, from the gardeners to the management, are welcoming, friendly and readily helpful without being intrusive. I'd say this creates a relaxed atmosphere which it seemed quickly rubbed off onto the guests! In addition, when I had a couple of questions about activities, the receptionists efforts to help exceeded my expectations by far.

A "day off" hanging out by the pool's an absolute pleasure and hotel bartender, Jeremiah, mixes the best Pina Colada on the island (hang in there, J!).

Security's good, with a very nice lady ;-) who keeps an eye on things during the day, so no problems there.

However, please bear in mind that if you require luxury & pampering by way of a "hotel based" vacation, I'd say Bay Gardens isn't the place for you. Maybe look elsewhere and be prepared to pay a luxurious and pampered cost !

In conclusion, I'd have no hesitation in staying at Bay Gardens if I visit St Lucia again. I've travelled, over very many years, extensively throughout the Carribean and Bay Gardens is certainly a good find. During my 8 day stay, there was a good mix of singles, couples and families and I never heard one complaint.

Give it a try - it's a real taste of St Lucia - I'd bet you'll love it!

What a hotel! absolutely excellent +++++++++

I stayed here for 10 days just recently and enjoyed every minute of it, it's small enough to get to know people. I stayed in Bay Gardens Hotel 3 years ago and that was just as good. At both hotels the staff are very good, a special recommendation to Natasha at Bay Gardens Inn who goes out of her way to be helpful to guests. I would definitely recommend the Bay Garden Hotels for a holiday in St. Lucia whether you are travelling alone or as a couple/family and let's not forget Bay Gardens Beach Resort which, of course you can use the facilities if staying at the other Bay Garden Hotels.
